Day Program
Engaging. Meaningful. Community-driven.
Pickering’s new Day Program presented by Global Community Development Network is committed to providing an educational, active children and adult experience that offers equal-access and opportunity to learn with support from our certified and dedicated staff.
For specific events, please see our events calendar.

Eligible clients may receive additional support such as two people transfer, extended support (toileting, assistance with eating), and management of disruptive behaviour that poses threats to others. The use of restraints and isolation are not permitted.
Please note medication will be stored securely in the fridge or medication cabinet and we ask for clients who require medication throughout the day communicate their needs during initial intake.

WHAT IS THE DAY PROGRAM?

The Day Program runs daily from 9AM-3PM, Monday to Friday, with the new After School Program available Monday to Friday 3PM-7PM. The Day Program focuses on curating specialized daytime activities, while learning with support. The objective of the Day Program is to provide care for a wide range of special needs, and cultivate a balanced and safe space while teaching independence, basic life skills, and communication skills. We believe in quality time well-spent at our day program, so that individuals can return home and to their families feeling enriched and connected to community, while families and guardians can rely on quality care, respite and advocacy for their loved ones.
